Madonna with Child, Saint John the Baptist and Saint Jerome – Alte Pinakothek – Munich

The work, purchased in Rome, depicts in the foreground the Madonna, richly dressed in a dress with a decorated neckline and sitting on a pedestal, while gently holding her son, Jesus, standing on his lap. The Child turns to his left, where, behind the wall on which his mother sits, there is Saint Jerome, who is portrayed as an elderly man with a long beard, and looks at the spectator. On the other hand, Saint John the Baptist attends the scene, while he joins his hands in prayer.
