The event opens the way to the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of Perugino’s death starting from Città della Pieve, located on the road that led from Florence to Rome, as if to mark a common thread that will lead him to be the “best Master of Italy”

The bond with his city will never fade, reinforced also by the autographs left on tables and frescoes, especially in the province, where he proudly left his signature, identifying himself as Pietro da Castro Plebis.

The main subjects of the conference will be the suggestions and emotions that the young citizen of Città della Pieve had met over the mysterious years of his training among the workshops of the time, in the very Città della Pieve, perhaps, where there are few but important traces of the artistic richness of the past; then probably in Perugia, following the influence of Piero della Francesca until his arrival in Florence, in Andrea del Verrocchio‘s workshop, where many important Renaissance artists were formed.
