Wednesday, March 8 at 11 the academic year 2022-2023 of the Academy of Fine Arts “Pietro Vannucci” was held at the Aula Magna Ercole Farnese in the headquarters of Piazza San Francesco al Prato.
During the event, the Academy of Fine Arts conferred the title of Academic of Honor to Barbara Jatta, Director of the Vatican Museums.
During her speech, the Director spoke of the masterpieces by Perugino and by Raphael that are currently preserved far from the place of origin (such as the Oddi Altarpiece and the Madonna di Foligno); she also announced that the Vatican Museums will join the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of the death of the Divine Painter: during summer 2023, the table of the Resurrection from San Francesco al Prato by Perugino, currently preserved in the Apostolic Palace, will be exhibited inside the Vatican Museums in an exhibition dedicated to Pietro Vannucci.
