Open until September 17, 2023at the Isola San Lorenzo – Museo del Capitolo of the Cathedral of Perugia, the exhibition dedicated to the Altarpiece of Sansepolcro Pietro Vannucci said Perugino, organized, as part of the project “Perugino nel segno del tempo” (“Perugino in the sign of time”) by the Archdiocese of Perugia – Città della Pieve and Genesi srl with the support of the Committee Promoter of the Celebrations for the fifth centenary of the death of the painter Pietro Vannucci said Perugino.
The work, created by the painter for the Cathedral of Sansepolcro, depicts the Ascension of Christ, or the moment of Jesus’ ascent to Heaven, which took place forty days after the Resurrection.
In addition to the exhibition, with the same admission ticket, you can visit the Museum of the Chapter of the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, which is presented to the public with a new thematic setting, made on the occasion of the centenary of its foundation (1923-2023), whose collection preserves valuable evidence of Umbrian art of the Renaissance.
The Museo del Capitolo and the exhibition are open every day from 10.30 to 13.30 and from 14.30 to 19.00 (last admission 30 minutes before closing).
