Madonna with Child and two Saints – Palazzo Pitti – Florence

The table is an almost identical copy of the one signed by Perugino and kept in Vienna, at the Kunsthistorisches Museum: the only differences between the two artworks relay on the color of the Virgin’s headdress and the veil that descends on her neck, but, on a graphic level, the artist used the same cardboard. The four figures are placed in a close and composed position: Mary sits on the foreground, holding Baby Jesus on her laps, while Saint Rosa and Saint Catherine stand behind an architectural element, similar to a parapet. There isn’t any presence of the landscape in the backgrounds, and only the sky is visible behind the two saints.
