Strada del Vino Colli del Trasimeno

The area around Lake Trasimeno has always been a borderland, dedicated to the culture of the vine. A way of trade and communion of intent that is reflected today in the Strada del Vino Colli del Trasimeno, a reality that brings together the different aspects of the territory for its promotion.

23 wineries take part in this association, each one different from the other for its history, origins, and production. The area around Lake Trasimeno is characterized by the richness and quality of the vines, thanks to both natural (climate and soil) and anthropic (cultivation techniques) factors. It is really interesting to note how every single area around the lake can offer different kinds of wines, all respecting the DOC standards, such as the Gamay, for an unforgettable journey into taste.

Thanks to this benefit, the association Strada del Vino Colli del Trasimeno can also count on the sinergy between nine municipalities scattered around the area: Castiglione del Lago, Città della Pieve, Corciano, Magione, Paciano, Panicale, Passignano sul Trasimeno, Piegaro and Tuoro sul Trasimeno.

The wine produced in the Lake Trasimeno area therefore has all the right qualities to be appreciated both by experts and wine lovers. On this basis, the association Strada del Vino Colli del Trasimeno wants to establish itself as a new player in the national and international wine tourism scene, to discover all the nuances of wine and landscape.

Trasimeno Experience

Thanks to a recent project, the Strada del Vino has rediscovered its original function: that of Destination Management Organization, dedicated to the promotion of the territory, aiming at the development of tourism and economy.

Together with the nine municipalities of the area, a series of tourist products and experiential activities have been developed, brought together in a new reality called Trasimeno Experience: from food and wine tastings to craft workshops and trekking cultural visits. This project brings together local economic operators, starting with wineries, where interesting, yet simple and genuine experiences are open to visitors, which are welcomed by the warmth of the inhabitants of these places, not yet reached by the stress typical of our times.

A slow way of life that allows to fully enjoy the activities, thanks to the help of the latest technologies, which allow easy and quick choices in the palm of your hand.

The project moves from the territory and the different ways to explore it: on foot, by bike, on horseback, there are paths that can be covered both independently and with expert guides; this also applays to waterways with agrifishing, boat rental and similar activities. On these routes tourists can find activities to suit all tastes and all ages, in order to promote the territory and its typical products, but also the craftsmanship, often forgotten.
